In the industrial environment, safety is an absolute priority. At Pinacho, we not only focus on offering high-precision CNC and conventional lathes but also on ensuring their safe use. Below, we provide an emergency protocol for lathe accidents, designed to minimize risks and respond effectively to any incident.

1. Assessment and Preparation

  • Staff Training: Ensure that all operators are adequately trained in the safe use of lathes and are familiar with emergency procedures.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Mandatory use of safety glasses, gloves, and appropriate work clothing.
  • Safety Signage: Clearly display emergency procedures and exit points.

2. Preventive Procedures

  • Regular Inspection: Conduct periodic inspections of lathes and their components. Ensure all safety guards and devices are in place and functioning correctly.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Maintain a regular maintenance schedule to ensure machines operate without faults.

3. Emergency Procedures

  • Immediate Shutdown: In case of an accident, press the machine’s emergency stop button to halt it immediately.
  • Situation Assessment: Quickly assess the severity of the accident. If minor (such as a small cut), treat it with the first aid kit. If severe (such as entrapment or amputation), follow the next steps.
  • Notification: Immediately inform the shift supervisor and emergency medical services. Provide details about the accident and the injured person’s condition.
  • First Aid: While waiting for emergency services, administer basic first aid. Do not attempt to move the victim if there is a risk of aggravating the injury.
  • Area Isolation: Prevent other people from approaching the accident area until it is confirmed safe.

4. Documentation and Analysis

  • Accident Recording: Document the incident in detail, including causes, immediate response, and actions taken.
  • Investigation: Conduct an investigation to determine the causes of the accident and how to prevent recurrence.
  • Procedure Review: Review and update safety procedures based on the investigation findings.

5. Continuous Training

  • Regular Updates: Provide ongoing training to operators on safety and emergency response. Use emergency simulations to keep staff prepared.

Strict implementation of these protocols not only protects workers but also optimizes productivity by reducing downtime due to accidents.

At Pinacho, we are committed to the safety and operational excellence of our staff and customers worldwide.
